This is the place where I will share my love of gardening, decorating, re-purposing road-side discoveries and thoughts about life.
For as long as I can remember historic homes and quaint little villages have captured my attention. There is something very magical and dreamy about having a beautiful front porch with colorful potted flowers, and a porch swing filled with pillows! I've always dreamed about owning a lovely little cottage, and both my husband and I are drawn to this style. It seems so relaxed and inviting!
Since my dream of a cottage hasn't come true YET, I've embraced my current abode. My husband and I own a little ranch house and we've made it simply delightful. It's the place that we call home. As I make the turn around the curve of my street, I get a glimpse of my two adorable Shih Tzus perched on the couch, anticipating my arrival. As I walk throught the front door, my heart feels happy because I'm home.
What does home mean to you? Home is the place where I feel safe, loved, and connected to my soul. It's where I can completely let down my guard and be truly me. It's the place where I feel accepted just the way I am. It's the canvas where my creativity can shine. It's my safe haven where I can escape from the busy world.
Since our delightful ranch house has a small front porch, we've created a beautiful back porch, and a gorgeous colorful garden that buzzes with bees, humming birds, and butterflies! It's a cozy experience to be on my covered porch during a thunderstorm curled up with a good book, and staying dry. I've always enjoyed sitting on the covered porches of my friends houses and now I have my very own porch.
If anyone out there is reading this.....I would love to hear what home means to you. Oh, by the way....a very special thanks to Kim from Dear Daisy Cottage because she is the one who inspired me to begin this blog. While blog hopping....
